❖ General Anatomy
The Aluris are a muscular and flexible species which ranges in size from that of a medium to large dog. They are quadrupedal; walking on four strong legs. Their anatomy is pretty similar to a feline with dragonic features.
|
Their body type isn´t defined by any rarity. They can be fat, thin, muscular and vary in size and body shape. Aluris have a very flexible body due to their light bones and very strong muscles. A fix anchorage between bones and joints is mostly renounced and their many cervical vertebras ensure a high flexibilty. That´s why they´re pretty good climbers, even if they have a short tail.

There is another, rare breed of aluris called ancients.

The Plates |
They have four fingers, a thumb and a dewclaw, which allows them to use complex tools and perform difficult actions. Their front legs are covered in strong skin, not like the hind legs with plate. This provides a higher mobility, allowing complex actions and gestures that Aluris can use. Usually they have only two plates protecting their upper arms.
Their feet also function similarly to hands, allowing them to balance on their back legs and sometimes pick up some things with their feet. They have claws on their hands and feet, both non-retractable, while the back claws are much stronger and more defined. Very important to the aluris are their fur sleeves, which usually cover the knees and elbows. The skin that covers their front legs is thick and durable, which protects them in fights. Usually however, they use their hind legs, which are much stronger as they are covered with big plates. |
To protect their hind legs, they are covered in plates, big scales made of keratin. Different from the horns, the keratin isn´t fortified with the crystallineus protein, allowing all kinds of different colors.
Dull colors such as dark browns and grays exist, but recently there has been more vibrant colors and even plates with markings. The shape of the plate can vary. These plates are noticeable by their filigree swirls that decorate them. Aluris are able to erect these plates, splay them out and use these as a sharp armor. |
❖ The Head
Aluris have a dragon/dog-like cranial; a long snout and a slim, but compact face. They have a beak-like structure made of cartilage on their face that can be rounded or slightly more geometric, depending on the Aluris. The cartilage is slightly movable, allowing them to stick out their toungue and having a more flexible mouth. Their nostrils are curved backwards, and some aluris may have a plate over their nose. They have a common, mammalian tongue.
Due their omnivore diet, they have a combination of sharp front teeth and molars, providing perfect tools for all kinds off food. Their teeth are, like their horns and nails, made off the special material allowing them to break everything; even hard materials like minerals. They have a very strong jaw guaranteeing a high bite force, necessary for breaking crystals.

❖ The Ears
1. Ear Flap - Usually soft and thin, but can be thicker as well.
2. Cervice Fold - Not optional! They always have these! 3. Ear Canal - Here starts the hearing Aluris have very sensitive hearing provided by their big ears, which are also used to express their wide range of complex emotions. They come in a great variety of styles, but they always have a swirly crevice fold. When listening for something, an aluris' ears will swivel in that direction. Their ears can independently point backwards as well as forwards and sideways, which provides a precise sound location. Aluris love listening to music and have sense for beautiful and unique sounds, which differs from personality to personality.

Below are a few examples of the ear shapes Aluri can have. You can choose their length, fur type, and if they're standing or folded. Just don´t make them ridiculously long. You´re free to give them missing ears or cut ones, but never forget the crevice fold! It´s also important that they are pointy and similar shaped to an elf. Another important note: they can´t have floppy ears because this is considered as a Holiday Trait.
❖ The Eyes
Aluri eyes are pretty big compared to the size of their head, contributing to a great eyesight. Their multifunctional lense is able to not only see incredibly well in well-lit areas, but also in the dark! Their eyes are able to be seen in the dark if light reflects off of them; this is because they have a Tapetum lucidum, which is a reflective layer behind the retina. Because of this aluris can see easily in the dark, but become nearly blind when there is a strong bright light.
To help this, their pupil is able to adjust to the level of light. The pupil contracts; meaning their pupil, regardless of their shape becomes smaller under bright light. The second eyelid is a thin cover that closes from the side of the eye. This covering once protected the eyes when aluri slept underground. Just like humans, they need to blink to keep their eyes lubricated. They also have the same color range as humans but they see things much better when it comes to objects that are very far away, or being able to spot small details that can´t be seen with human eyes. |

The eyes of an aluris come in a great variety, showing their magical origin. The shape of their pupil can be anything you can imagine and their eye color can be everything, even multicolored. All types of heterochromia are common and are only limited to your creativity. There are aluri with colored scleras and two different eyes! Aluris have brow spots; movable furry spots above their eyes which not only protect them from getting particles in their eyes, but are also super expressive! They can have many shapes and sizes. |
There are some ★ SPECIAL eyes, which can only be found on some aluri. They are not available to MYOs.
Glowing Eyes are also ★ SPECIAL These are either obtained via group activities, or can be rewarded for completing trials in the group. |

❖ Skin and Fur
Aluri have very strong skin which is covered in usually thick fur, except for their legs! You may add fur as you like. Fur grows and Aluris can style and cut it.. They can have beards, all types of hairstyles and fur textures.
There are no color restrictions regarding the fur and most markings are allowed. You may give your Aluri complex tattoos, skeleton markings, patterns, single stars, gradients, and many other things. Feel free to experiment or find inspiration in real life animals.

❖ Inner Organs
- They have two circulation systems; one is a regular blood/oxygen circulation, and the other is the magical liquid which is directly connectet to all gemmeus parts they have. The magic circulation system also has a great influence on their senses and helps them conduct magic. It also strengthens their claws, bones, teeth and horns. This is why they have two hearts, one of these being a common, organic heart and the other one is a gemmeus, which actually works like a muscle.
- Vomeronasal Órgan is located in the throat, helping Aluris to pick up different scents.
- Their stomach acid is super strong and can digest everything. They can absorb the special energy of these crystals and use them for magical use.
- Aluris need to breathe in order to survive. They have lungs like us.
- Their blood is red and transports oxygen through their body.
- Their bones are made of a mixture between calcium and crystallineus proteins and pretty similar to human bones. They always have small hue of their original gemmeus color, pretty pale. Much stronger than common bones but still very flexible.
✦ Diet
Aluris don't really need food to survive. Instead, they consume crystals to get their energy. Aluris eat crystals mainly, but often eat other things such as meat and plants. Overall, they have an omnivorous diet similar to that of humans. While they don’t necessarily have to eat food, but they do have to consume crystal shards on a regular basis to replenish energy and magic stores.
❖ Life cycle
- Aluris “reproduce” by combining their magic, but its pretty rare that aluris have children.
- Two (or in some cases, three) aluris have to love to each other to produce the right substances for creating their offspring. Usually they look for a safe place, either their house or a calm glade in nature where they can bond. It's a very exhausting and sometimes painful process.
- Magic is required to create their offspring. To make the substance, magic has to be concentrated greatly to the point where it concentrates from the air into a liquid. By combining these substances, a solution is created. This substance oozes away in the ground, creating an underground crystal which starts to grow by consuming the surrounding magic and solidifying it.
- After a few months, a small crystal breaks out of the earth and starts to form the shape of a sleeping aluri. Its usually different if parents decide to protect and watch their child grow, or leave it on their own because young aluris are able to survive in the wild from the beginning. Their skin starts to organize, transforming the rough mineral in living material and the growing gemme gives them life.
- They are born with their stone, as they are made from it. However, before it become visible, they have to complete their own journey to Loke's magic and awaken their true power.
- Aluris babies are basically like puppies and called "Pebbles" because of their grey stone like horn coverage.
- In the first few weeks, a pebble grows immense. In these weeks Aluris need to eat and gain energy through food because their magic isn´t fully developed yet. When they become older, this need to eat gets lost, but their sense of taste remains and that´s why they´re usually still eat for luxury.
- They actually don´t grow with time, they evolve when they become stronger and learn new things. Their age is defined by their knowledge and magic level.
- Aluris can reach an age of 100 - 200 years. Ancient ones can become even older.
- When aluris die, their crystal regrows in the environment. It's pretty common to see many crystals growing on the surface of Wake. It's said that all souls return to the "Source of Souls", a huge crystal located in the center of Erye.
✦ Injuries and Sickness
Wretch disease - Wretch aluris can be any type of aluris, but are known to be slightly more twisted at minimum. Their exposure to dark magic, and lack of being able to handle it safely, has eaten away at their form. Because of this, these aluris often have patches of skin where skeleton is shown underneath. Most aluris succumb to wretch when they get it and become more and more twisted, acting aloof. There are some mages however that have been able to contain it and stop the progression of wretch, but never heal the aluris completely. The most notable of these mages is Methane, who has the wretch themself.
